Avery Burton (c. 1470 - c. 1543) was an English composer. He is known as the composer of a Mass,
Ut re mi fa sol la, in the Forrest-Heyther partbooks (this is probably not the Mass of 1494) and of a Te Deum for organ. In November 1494 he was paid 20 shillings by Henry VII for composing a Mass; in 1509 he became a gentleman of the Chapel Royal. In 1513 he went to France with the Chapel Royal, a Te Deum of his being sung after Mass at Tournai in September; in June 1520 he was present at the historic meeting between Henry VIII of England and Francis I of France, known as the Field of the Cloth of Gold. His name disappears from the records of the Chapel Royal after 1542.
